Dark Phoenix Watch online for free

June 17, 2019 1

Dark Phoenix (also known as X-Men: Dark Phoenix) is a 2019 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics X-Men characters, produced by 20th Century Fox and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the twelfth installment in the X-Men film series, a direct sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), and the seventh and final installment in the main X-Men series. The film is written and directed by Simon Kinberg and stars an ensemble cast featuring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Jessica Chastain. In Dark Phoenix, the X-Men must face the full power of the Phoenix after a mission in space goes wrong.

After X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) erased the events of X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) from the series' timeline, Kinberg expressed interest in a new adaptation of Chris Claremont and John Byrne's "The Dark Phoenix Saga" in a future film that would be more faithful than his previous attempt with The Last Stand, which was not well received. The new adaptation was confirmed as a follow-up to Apocalypse in 2016. Kinberg signed on to make his directorial debut in June 2017, when the majority of the cast was set to return from Apocalypse. Filming began later that month in Montreal and was completed in October 2017; the entire third act was later reshot in late 2018 following poor test screenings. The film was dedicated to the memory of X-Men co-creator Stan Lee.

Dark Phoenix was theatrically released in the United States on June 7, 2019. The film received negative reviews from critics who described it as "boring" and criticized both the plot and character development, although the performances (particularly McAvoy and Turner) received some praise.[4][5] Many viewed the film as a disappointing and anticlimactic conclusion to the Fox X-Men series, and it is the worst-reviewed installment of the franchise according to Rotten Tomatoes.

Cast

  • James McAvoy as Charles Xavier / Professor X:
mutant pacifist, he founded Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.[6] Many of the characters in the film turn against Xavier as some of his decisions regarding Jean Grey's abilities are revealed. Director Simon Kinberg felt that the character always acts out of concern for the "greater good", though he may make some "misguided" choices at times. Kinberg hoped that each character would come across as having "a valid point of view" in the film.[7]
  • Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto:
A powerful mutant who can control magnetic fields and manipulate metal, he is Xavier's former best friend and often rival.[6] Magneto has formed a community of mutant refugees on the island of Genosha,[8] which Kinberg compared to Israel in it being a homeland where mutants can be safe.[9]
  • Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkhölme / Mystique:
A shape-shifting mutant and Xavier's adopted sister.[6] Lawrence described her role in the film as more maternal than previously, as she leads the younger X-Men.[10] The film continues growing the schism between Mystique and Xavier, with Mystique not approving of some of Xavier's methods, though Kinberg hoped that this would be more subtle in Dark Phoenix than in previous X-Men films. The film also sees the character change between appearing as Raven and Mystique more than previously, with each change having a specific meaning to the character and story. She continues to have feelings for Beast.[9]
  • Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy / Beast: A mutant with a beastly appearance and superhuman physical abilities. He is a teacher at Xavier's School and helps lead the younger X-Men. He continues to have feelings for Mystique.[6]
  • Sophie Turner as Jean Grey / Phoenix:
An extremely powerful mutant with telepathic and telekinetic powers who is one of Xavier's most prized students.[6] The Phoenix entity is unleashed in the film, leading to a fight between the two personalities for control. Turner studied dissociative identity disorder and schizophrenia for the role, particularly for scenes where she has to change from the vulnerable Jean to the confident Phoenix.[11]Kinberg said Turner has the lead role in the film, a first for the actress.[12] Summer Fontana portrays a young Jean Grey.
  • Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers / Cyclops:
A mutant who fires concussive optic beams. The film develops his relationship with Jean Grey, which director Simon Kinberg called "a huge part of the emotional core of the movie". This forces the character to become a leader in the film,as he becomes the most prominent character who holds on to hope as Jean becomes more unstable.
  • Alexandra Shipp as Ororo Munroe / Storm: An African mutant who can control the weather.
  • Kodi Smit-McPhee as Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler: A German mutant who can teleport.
  • Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff / Quicksilver:
Magneto's mutant son who can move at superhuman speed.[14] Peters described the character as more mature and subdued in the film, being focused on using his abilities for good as a member of the X-Men.[15]
  • Jessica Chastain as Vuk:[The leader of a shape-shifting alien race known as the D'Bari who manipulates the Phoenix. Kinberg described her as "the devil on Jean's shoulder", while Chastain called her character "clinical".[17] Chastain also plays Margaret Smith, the woman Vuk impersonates.

Aladdin is a 2019 American musical fantasy film directed by Guy Ritchie, who co-wrote the screenplay with John August. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, it is a live action adaptation of Disney's 1992 animated film of the same name, which is based on the eponymous tale from One Thousand and One Nights.[1][a] The film stars Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad and Billy Magnussen, as well as the voices of Alan Tudyk and Frank Welker. The plot follows Aladdin, a street urchin, as he falls in love with Princess Jasmine, befriends a wish-granting Genie, and battles the wicked Jafar.

In October 2016, Disney announced Ritchie would direct a live-action Aladdin remake. Smith was the first member of the cast to join, signing on to portray Genie in July 2017, and Massoud and Scott were confirmed for the two lead roles later that month. Principal photography began that September at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England, also filming in the Wadi Rum Desert in Jordan, and lasted until January 2018.

Aladdin was theatrically released in the United States on May 24, 2019, and has grossed over $724 million worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing film of 2019. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the costumes, musical score, and performances of Smith, Massoud, and Scott, but criticized Ritchie's direction and the CGI effects.

Cast

  • Will Smith as Genie:
A comedically eccentric and kindly jinn who has the power to grant three wishes to whoever possesses his magic lamp. Smith said that he was "terrified" while playing the character, but that "[he] found a lane that pays homage" to Robin Williams' performance in the original film, while still making the role "[his] own thing".[9] Smith described the character as "both a trickster and a mentor" who tries "to guide Aladdin to the truth of the greatness that's already within him".[1] Smith physically portrays the character when he is in the guise of a human, while his blue genie form is CGI, portrayed through motion-capture performance.[10][11]
  • Mena Massoud as Aladdin:
An impoverished Agrabah thief and "street rat" who is smitten with the Sultan's daughter. With the Genie's help, he masquerades as Prince Ali Ababwa. Massoud said that Aladdin "sees a future for himself that's greater than what's been set out for him at the present moment. He doesn't know exactly what it is or how he's going to get there, but he knows it is out there", and felt the character "[i]s very selfless and usually does things for other people, but as he falls in love he loses himself a little bit and starts to become someone that he's not. But he's a good person with good intentions and has good people surrounding him who lead him back to where he's supposed to be".[1]
  • Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine:
The Sultan's daughter and the dazzling beautiful, courageous princess of Agrabah who wants to have a say in how she lives her life. Scott said that the character "will be strong and have fun, but also get it wrong and be emotional. She's a multidimensional woman, and she does not have to just be one thing. So in this movie, you see her go on such a roller coaster, as opposed to her one goal being to fall in love or get married". She further stated that Jasmine will try to find "the courage to speak out for her people",[12] and said that "Jasmine wants to know what goes on in her kingdom and reconcile the distance that has been created, and Aladdin gives her the courage to do just that".[1]
  • Marwan Kenzari as Jafar:
A nefarious and deceptive sorcerer, the Grand vizier of Agrabah and the Sultan's chief advisor who, frustrated with the Sultan's ways of ruling, devises a plot to overthrow the Sultan as the ruler of Agrabah by acquiring the Genie's lamp. Jafar's backstory is explored in the film, which producer Jonathan Eirich felt would make the audience "understand why he's so bad, and [he thinks] that's what makes him such a good villain".[1]
  • Navid Negahban as The Sultan: The wise and noble ruler of Agrabah who is eager to find a capable husband for his daughter Jasmine.
  • Nasim Pedrad as Dalia: Jasmine's loyal handmaiden and confidante. Pedrad said that Dalia "[has] been by Jasmine's side for years and really looks out for her".
  • Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders: A suitor and potential husband for Jasmine from the kingdom of SkÃ¥nland.[11][13]
  • Numan Acar as Hakim: The head of the palace guards who is loyal to the Sultan of Agrabah since his father worked for the Sultan as a palace servant.
  • Jordan A. Nash as Omar: The Genie and Dalia's son.
  • Taliyah Blair as Lian: The Genie and Dalia's daughter.
  • Aubrey Lin as Omi
  • Amir Boutrous as Jamal: A bread vendor who Aladdin tricks to keep him from taking disguised Jasmine's heirloom bracelet and is later revealed to work for Jafar until his death.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Highly Compressed

June 13, 2019 0

About The Game

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a 2018 action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft. It is the eleventh major installment, and twentieth overall, in the Assassin's Creed series and the successor to 2017's Assassin's Creed Origins. Set in the year 431 BC, the plot tells a fictional history of the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. Players control a male or female mercenary (Ancient Greek: μίσθιος misthios) who fights for both sides as they attempt to unite their family and uncover a malign cult.
The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and (in Japan only) for Nintendo Switch on October 5, 2018. It was praised for its open world, visuals, combat, story, and characters, while receiving criticism for some reliance on grinding, microtransactions, and for feeling bloated.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey places more emphasis on role-playing elements than previous games in the series. The game contains dialogue options, branching quests, and multiple endings. The player is able to choose the gender of the main character, adopting the role of Alexios or Kassandra. The player can also develop romantic relationships with non-playable characters of both genders, regardless of which one they choose. The game features a notoriety system in which mercenaries chase after the player if they commit crimes like killing or stealing. The player character, Alexios or Kassandra, is a mercenary, and a descendant of the Spartan king Leonidas I. They inherit his broken spear, which is forged into a blade to become a weapon that grants the player special abilities in combat. The game uses a skill tree system that allows the player to unlock new abilities. The three skill trees are "hunter", which improves player character's archery, "warrior", which puts emphasis on combat, and "assassin", which focuses on stealth. This replaces the system used in Origins, which granted the player a series of passive abilities.
The hitbox combat system introduced in Origins returns and is expanded upon to grant the player access to four different special skills when the ability bar fills up. These skills include calling a rain of arrows and a powerful kick to knock opponents off-balance,and are similar to the "Overpower" mechanic introduced in Origins that let the player use a powerful finishing move in combat. The game also features a gear system in which each piece of armor the player wears has different statistics and provides a range of advantages. These can be equipped and upgraded individually.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey also features naval combat again, with the player having access to Hellenistic-era warships to explore the Aegean Sea. The conflict between Athens and Sparta is represented through a "War System" which enables players to take contracts from mercenaries and participate in different large-scale battles against hostile factions. The war system can change a faction's influence over a region.

The game is set in 431 BC, four hundred years before the events of Assassin's Creed Origins. It recounts the secret fictional history of the Peloponnesian War, which was fought between the city-states of Greece. The player takes on the role of a mercenary and is able to fight for the Delian League, led by Athens, or the Peloponnesian League, led by Sparta. The game's main storyline has the player character attempting to restore their fractured family after they and their sibling were thrown off a cliff in their youth and left for dead by their father by command of the Spartan oracle. Parallel quest lines deal with the extirpation of a malign cult spanning the Greek world, and the discovery of artifacts and monsters from Atlantean times. The game features a number of historical personages players can encounter and talk to, including Alkibiades, Kleon, Sokrates, Sophokles, Pausanias, Herodotos, Hippokrates, Brasidas, Perikles and Phidias. It also includes historical and mythical locations such as the Agora of Athens, Kephallonia, Ithaca, the Odeon of Athens, the Foloi oak forest, the statue of Zeus at Olympia, Naxos, Lesbos, ancient Athens, ancient Argolis, Pnyx, Phokis and Mesara.
